The Pala Band of Mission Indians is located in northern San Diego County, where a majority of the 918 enrolled members live on their 12,273-acre reservation, established for Cupeņo and Luiseņo Indians, who consider themselves to be one proud people & Pala.
Providing for those most in need has always been a priority for members of the Pala Band of Mission Indians. Today the Pala Tribe continues the tradition through the Pala Community Giving Program.
The purpose of the Community Giving Fund is to support organizations seeking the resources to have an impact in a variety of philanthropic causes. In 2008 alone the Pala Tribe provided nearly $1.4 million to service organizations and organizations supporting needs in education, emergency relief, healthcare and the environment.
